Biography:
Portgas D. Ace, also known as "Fire Fist" Ace, is a prominent character in the popular anime and manga series, One Piece. He is the adopted older brother of the series' protagonist, Monkey D. Luffy, and Sabo.
Ace was the son of the late Pirate King, Gol D. Roger, and Portgas D. Rouge. To protect Ace from the World Government, Rouge kept him in her womb for an unprecedented twenty months. After her death, Ace was raised by Monkey D. Garp, Luffy's grandfather.
Ace became the commander of the 2nd division of the Whitebeard Pirates, one of the strongest pirate crews in the world. He possessed the Mera Mera no Mi, a Logia-type Devil Fruit that granted him the power to create, control, and transform into fire.
Ace's pursuit of his former subordinate, Marshall D. Teach (Blackbeard), led to his capture by the World Government. He was subsequently sentenced to public execution, triggering the Marineford War, a massive conflict between the Whitebeard Pirates and the Marines.
Ace ultimately died protecting Luffy from Admiral Akainu during the war, becoming a pivotal moment in Luffy's journey and a significant event in the overall narrative of One Piece. His death served as a catalyst for Luffy's growth and determination to become the Pirate King.
