Biography:
Dr. Victor Fries, known as Mr. Freeze, is a tragic villain in DC Comics, primarily associated with Batman. A brilliant cryogenics scientist, Fries' life was irrevocably altered when his wife, Nora, contracted a terminal illness.
In a desperate attempt to save her, Victor placed Nora in cryogenic stasis, hoping to find a cure in the future. During an accident at his lab, Fries was exposed to cryogenic chemicals, drastically lowering his body temperature and making him dependent on sub-zero environments to survive.
Forced to wear a specialized cryo-suit, he can no longer live at normal temperatures. His motivations are driven by a desire to cure Nora and exact revenge on those he blames for his condition, especially those who interrupted his research. He often commits crimes to fund his research and protect Nora.
Though a criminal, Mr. Freeze is often portrayed with a sympathetic edge. He is a man driven by love and loss, a victim of circumstance as much as a perpetrator of crime.
