The Super-Adaptoid is a powerful android villain in the Marvel Universe, primarily known for its ability to mimic the powers and appearances of other superhumans. Created by Advanced Idea Mechanics (A.I.M.), its original purpose was to infiltrate and destroy the Avengers.

Its core technology revolves around an advanced adaptive ability. The Adaptoid can observe and analyze superhuman abilities, then instantly replicate them. This includes powers, weapons, and even physical characteristics. Initially, it primarily copied the abilities of the Avengers, giving it a diverse skillset.

Over time, the Super-Adaptoid has faced numerous heroes and villains, adapting to new threats and expanding its power repertoire. Its appearance can change depending on the powers it's currently emulating, often resulting in a composite form that blends the features of its copied opponents. While incredibly powerful, it has been defeated multiple times, often due to clever tactics that exploit the limitations of its adaptive abilities or its reliance on external power sources.
