The Walking Dead

Rick Grimes is the central protagonist of The Walking Dead, both the comic book series and the television adaptation. A former sheriff's deputy in rural Georgia, Rick awakens from a coma to find the world overrun by zombies, referred to as "walkers."

Driven by a strong moral compass and a commitment to protecting his family, particularly his wife Lori and son Carl, Rick becomes the de facto leader of a group of survivors. He navigates the dangers of both the walkers and hostile human factions.

Throughout the series, Rick evolves from a principled lawman to a hardened survivor, forced to make difficult choices to ensure the safety of his group. He grapples with internal conflicts, questioning the lengths he's willing to go to in order to survive.

Though his leadership is often challenged and his decisions scrutinized, Rick remains a pivotal figure in the post-apocalyptic world, symbolizing hope and resilience amidst unimaginable horror. He eventually leaves the main group of survivors in the television series but continues his story in upcoming spin-off shows.
