Tatsu Yamashiro, known as Katana, is a fictional character appearing in The CW's Arrowverse. She is portrayed by actress Rila Fukushima. Her character originates in the DC Comics universe.

Tatsu is introduced through flashbacks detailing Oliver Queen's time in Hong Kong after the Queen's Gambit sank. She and her husband, Maseo, take Oliver in and train him. Tatsu is a skilled martial artist, teaching Oliver vital combat skills and providing emotional support.

Her backstory involves the tragic death of her husband, Maseo, at the hands of their friend Shado, whom Maseo accidentally killed while trying to protect Tatsu. This event is a source of deep pain and influences her actions. The Soultaker sword, which she wields, contains the souls of those she has slain.

She later appears in Starling City to help Oliver and Team Arrow. Though initially reserved, she becomes a valuable ally, using her fighting skills and knowledge to aid their mission. Her grief and past traumas often shape her choices and interactions with others. She eventually departs Starling City, remaining a figure of Oliver's past.
