Biography:
Charles "Chuck" Brown, better known as Kite Man, is a fictional character appearing in DC Comics, primarily associated with Batman. He debuted in Batman #133 in 1960.
Initially, Kite Man was a fairly unremarkable, if persistent, low-level criminal who used various kites to commit crimes. He possessed no superpowers, relying solely on his kiting skills and ingenuity.
The character remained largely obscure for decades. However, Kite Man experienced a significant resurgence in popularity, particularly within the context of Tom King's run on the Batman comic book series (2016-2019). This run re-envisioned him as a tragic figure, notably highlighting his unrequited love for Poison Ivy and a past marked by personal loss. "Kite Man, hell yeah!" became his iconic catchphrase.
Since then, Kite Man has appeared in various other DC media, including the animated series Harley Quinn, further cementing his status as a surprisingly endearing and often comedic, albeit flawed, character within the Batman mythos.
