Hope Summers is a mutant character in Marvel Comics, born in the aftermath of the "House of M" event. She is the first mutant born after the Decimation, an event where Scarlet Witch depowered the vast majority of the mutant population. This made her a figure of immense importance and controversy, seen as either the savior or destroyer of mutantkind.

Cable, a time-traveling mutant and the son of Cyclops, took Hope into the future to protect her from those who sought to control or kill her. He raised her as his daughter, training her in combat and survival. During this time, she began to manifest the ability to mimic and control the powers of other mutants.

Hope eventually returned to the present with Cable, where she became a central figure in the "Second Coming" storyline. She played a crucial role in reactivating the X-Gene in other mutants. After the events of Avengers vs. X-Men, Hope began working to control her powers and find her place in the mutant community.
