Ayesha is a fictional character portrayed in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). She first appeared in the movie Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2.
Created by the Sovereign race, Ayesha is their golden-skinned High Priestess. She is depicted as intelligent, powerful, and supremely arrogant, holding herself and her genetically engineered people above others.
In Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, Ayesha hires the Guardians to protect valuable batteries from an interdimensional monster, but later seeks revenge when Rocket steals some of them. Her pursuit of the Guardians sets off a chain of events that shape the film's plot.
Ayesha's character is marked by her perfectionism and intolerance of perceived flaws. At the end of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, she is seen creating a new, more powerful being to destroy the Guardians, whom she names Adam.
