K-3PO was a protocol droid serving the Rebel Alliance during the Galactic Civil War. His primary function was communications and information management, offering tactical analysis and logistical support at Echo Base on the ice planet Hoth.

Built by Cybot Galactica, K-3PO possessed a polished silver exterior and a distinctly logical, almost pessimistic personality. He frequently highlighted potential risks and unfavorable odds, often clashing with the more optimistic C-3PO.

Despite his somber outlook, K-3PO was a dedicated and valuable asset to the Rebellion. He played a crucial role in coordinating the evacuation of Echo Base during the Imperial attack, relaying critical information and assisting in managing the chaotic retreat.

Sadly, K-3PO was destroyed during the Battle of Hoth. While his specific fate remains somewhat ambiguous in the original film, supplemental materials indicate he was likely caught in the crossfire during the intense fighting, a casualty of the Empire's relentless assault.
