Gamora is a prominent character within the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), introduced in Guardians of the Galaxy (2014). Adopted by Thanos after he murdered her parents and decimated her homeworld, Zen-Whoberi, she was trained as a formidable assassin, becoming known as "the deadliest woman in the galaxy."
Initially serving Thanos as part of his mission to acquire the Infinity Stones, Gamora eventually grew disillusioned with his genocidal goals. She defected and sought to prevent Thanos from obtaining the Power Stone, leading her to team up with Peter Quill (Star-Lord), Rocket Raccoon, Groot, and Drax the Destroyer, forming the Guardians of the Galaxy.
Gamora possessed enhanced strength, agility, and healing abilities. Her expertise in combat and strategy made her a vital asset to the Guardians. Tragically, she was sacrificed by Thanos on Vormir to acquire the Soul Stone in Avengers: Infinity War (2018).
A younger, alternate timeline version of Gamora, predating her connection with the Guardians, appeared in Avengers: Endgame (2019) and remained in the primary MCU timeline. This version of Gamora, lacking memories of her relationship with the Guardians, grapples with her past and her potential future, continuing to operate within the team.
