Simon Williams, also known as Wonder Man, is a fictional superhero appearing in American comic books published by Marvel Comics. He first appeared in The Avengers #9 (October 1964) and was created by writer Stan Lee and artists Jack Kirby and Don Heck.
Originally a reluctant villain, Williams inherited his father's business, Williams Innovations. Blaming Tony Stark's Stark Industries for his company's failure, he accepted an offer from Baron Zemo, who granted him ionic superpowers. These powers enhanced his strength, speed, durability, and gave him the ability to project ionic energy.
Initially tasked with infiltrating and destroying the Avengers, Wonder Man sacrificed himself to save the team. However, his body was preserved. Later, he was revived and joined the Avengers as a hero. He has since been a prominent member of the team and has also worked as an actor and stuntman in Hollywood.
Wonder Man's ionic form makes him incredibly durable and nearly invulnerable. He is known for his charming personality, sense of humor, and his on-again, off-again romantic relationship with the Scarlet Witch.
