Rick Deckard, often referred to simply as Rick, is a fictional character most famously portrayed by Harrison Ford in the 1982 film *Blade Runner* and its 2017 sequel, *Blade Runner 2049*. He is also portrayed by Harrison Ford in the 2023 animated series *Blade Runner: Black Lotus*.
Within the *Blade Runner* universe, Deckard is a "Blade Runner," a specialized police officer tasked with hunting down and "retiring" (killing) replicants, bio-engineered beings virtually indistinguishable from humans. He operates in a dystopian Los Angeles.
His character is defined by his world-weariness and moral ambiguity.
