Biography:
George Harrison (born February 25, 1943, died November 29, 2001) was an English musician, singer-songwriter, and guitarist who achieved international fame as the lead guitarist of the Beatles. He is often referred to as "the quiet Beatle" due to his reserved personality.
While initially overshadowed by John Lennon and Paul McCartney, Harrison's songwriting contributions to the Beatles grew significantly throughout the band's career. Notable compositions include "While My Guitar Gently Weeps," "Here Comes the Sun," and "Something."
Following the Beatles' breakup, Harrison embarked on a successful solo career. His triple album "All Things Must Pass" (1970) was critically acclaimed and a commercial triumph. He was also a pioneer in introducing Eastern spirituality and Indian music to Western audiences.
Beyond music, Harrison was a film producer, co-founding HandMade Films, which produced movies such as "Monty Python's Life of Brian." He was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame twice: with the Beatles in 1988 and as a solo artist in 2004.
