Boromir, son of Denethor II, was a central character in J.R.R. Tolkien's The Lord of the Rings. He was the older brother of Faramir and a renowned warrior of Gondor.
Boromir journeyed to Rivendell as a representative of Gondor at the Council of Elrond, seeking counsel regarding the prophetic dream concerning Isildur's Bane. He advocated for using the One Ring to defend Gondor against Sauron, believing it a weapon to be wielded by righteous men.
