Captain Marvel, also known as Mar-Vell, is a fictional superhero appearing in Marvel Comics. He is a Kree alien soldier who was originally sent to Earth as a spy. He was tasked to observe humanity's progress and assess the threat they posed to the Kree Empire.
Over time, Mar-Vell grew to admire humanity and its potential. He began to sympathize with the humans he was sent to spy on. He eventually turned against his own people.
