Nathan Summers, known as Cable, is a time-traveling mutant soldier from a dystopian future in the Marvel cinematic universe. He appears in Deadpool 2.
Born to Scott Summers (Cyclops) and Madelyne Pryor (a clone of Jean Grey) in the future, Nathan was infected with a deadly techno-organic virus by Apocalypse.
To save his life, he was sent to the future where a cure could be found and trained to become a hardened warrior. His primary mission is to prevent the rise of Russell Collins (Firefist), believing Collins will become a mass murderer and cause further devastation to his timeline.
Cable's cybernetic enhancements grant him superhuman strength, enhanced senses, and the ability to interface with technology. His powers are constantly focused on suppressing the techno-organic virus, which limits their full potential.
Driven by the loss of his wife and daughter to Firefist's future actions, Cable is determined to alter the past, even if it means resorting to extreme measures. He is portrayed by Josh Brolin.
