RC-1138, more commonly known as "Boss," was the leader of the elite Republic commando squad, Delta Squad, during the Clone Wars. He was a Special Forces clone trooper, trained and augmented beyond the standard clone soldier by the Cuy'val Dar, specifically Sergeant Walon Vau. This training emphasized independent thinking, adaptability, and specialized combat tactics.
Boss distinguished himself through his tactical prowess, leadership skills, and unwavering loyalty to his squad. He prioritized the lives of his Delta Squad brothers - Fixer (RC-1140), Scorch (RC-1207), and Sev (RC-1207) - above all else, often bending or breaking regulations to ensure their survival. His armor was characteristically marked with orange highlights, reflecting his command role and setting him apart.
Throughout the Clone Wars, Boss and Delta Squad undertook numerous covert missions against Separatist targets.
