Superman (Blackest Night) is a corrupted version of the iconic DC Comics hero, Superman, resurrected as a Black Lantern during the "Blackest Night" event.
After his death, Superman, like many other deceased heroes and villains, was reanimated by Nekron, the lord of the undead, using a Black Power Ring. This ring stripped away his soul and willpower, transforming him into a weapon of death and despair.
As a Black Lantern, Superman retained his immense Kryptonian powers, including flight, super strength, and heat vision, but they were now fueled by the negative emotions of others. He was driven to extinguish life and bring forth a universe consumed by darkness.
This corrupted Superman battled against his former allies and loved ones, inflicting both physical and emotional pain. He served as a terrifying symbol of the Black Lantern Corps' power and the threat they posed to the entire DC Universe. His eventual defeat and return to life was a crucial turning point in the Blackest Night saga.
