General Zod, in the DC Extended Universe, is a Kryptonian military leader and antagonist featured prominently in Man of Steel.
Born on Krypton, Zod was genetically engineered to be a warrior, tasked with protecting Krypton's interests above all else. He led a military coup against the Kryptonian council when they refused to address the planet's imminent destruction. His rebellion failed, resulting in his and his followers' banishment to the Phantom Zone.
