Springtrap, a central antagonist in the Five Nights at Freddy's franchise, is a dilapidated animatronic rabbit suit. He is notably different from the other animatronics due to his decaying state and disturbing backstory.
Beneath the rotting costume lies William Afton, a serial killer and the co-founder of Fazbear Entertainment. Afton used the Spring Bonnie suit, which could function as both an animatronic and a wearable suit, to lure children to their deaths. He was eventually trapped inside the suit after the spirits of his victims cornered him, and the springlocks, designed to keep the animatronic components in place, malfunctioned, crushing him.
Imprisoned and left to rot for decades, Afton's corpse fused with the animatronic parts, creating the terrifying Springtrap. He retains Afton's malicious personality and continues his pursuit of victims, driven by a relentless need to kill. He is driven to seek out his killer victims, making him a persistent threat throughout multiple games.
