Biography:
James Buchanan "Bucky" Barnes, a Marvel Comics character, is a significant figure in Captain America's history. Born in 1917, he grew up as Steve Rogers' best friend in Brooklyn during the Great Depression.
During World War II, Bucky initially served as a mascot for Steve Rogers' unit, but soon proved himself a capable soldier. He fought alongside Captain America in numerous missions against the Nazis, becoming a skilled hand-to-hand combatant and marksman.
Presumed dead after falling from a train during a mission in 1945, Bucky was recovered by Soviet agents. They brainwashed and experimented on him, turning him into the Winter Soldier, a highly skilled and ruthless assassin.
As the Winter Soldier, he carried out covert missions for decades, his memory suppressed between assignments. Eventually, his past began to resurface, leading him to confront his actions and seek redemption.
He has since fought alongside and against the Avengers, struggling to reconcile his past as the Winter Soldier with his present identity. He now works to atone for his crimes and protect the innocent, often operating under the moniker the White Wolf.
