The Second Doctor, portrayed by Patrick Troughton, was the second incarnation of the Doctor, a Time Lord from the planet Gallifrey, in the long-running BBC science fiction television series *Doctor Who*. He assumed the role in 1966 following the First Doctor's (William Hartnell) regeneration and continued until 1969.
