Biography:

The Ninth Doctor, portrayed by Christopher Eccleston, is a reincarnation of the Time Lord known as the Doctor, the central character in the long-running British science fiction television series Doctor Who. He is the ninth iteration of the Doctor, following the Eighth Doctor's demise in the Time War.

The Ninth Doctor is characterized by his leather jacket, short hair, and Northern English accent. Haunted by the Time War's devastating consequences and his perceived role in it, he carries a deep-seated trauma beneath a veneer of energetic enthusiasm.

He travels through time and space in the TARDIS, a sentient time machine disguised as a 1950s police box. His main companion during his brief tenure is Rose Tyler (Billie Piper), a young shop assistant from London. He also briefly travels with Mickey Smith (Noel Clarke), Rose's boyfriend, and Captain Jack Harkness (John Barrowman), a charismatic time agent from the 51st century.

Despite his internal struggles, the Ninth Doctor is fiercely protective of those he travels with and committed to defending the innocent. He represents a fresh start for the Doctor Who franchise, bringing it back to television after a long hiatus. He ultimately regenerates at the end of the first series to save Rose from the Time Vortex.
