Biography:
Pietro Maximoff, also known as Quicksilver, was a super-powered individual in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. He first appeared in Avengers: Age of Ultron (2015), alongside his twin sister, Wanda Maximoff (Scarlet Witch).
Pietro and Wanda were orphaned in Sokovia after a Stark Industries missile destroyed their apartment building. Fueled by hatred for Tony Stark and a desire for revenge, they volunteered for HYDRA experiments led by Baron Wolfgang von Strucker. These experiments unlocked latent mutant abilities within them, granting Pietro superhuman speed.
Quicksilver initially allied with Ultron, believing the artificial intelligence could destroy the Avengers and bring peace to Sokovia. However, after learning Ultron's true destructive intentions, the twins switched allegiances and joined the Avengers in the final battle against Ultron.
During the Battle of Sokovia, Quicksilver used his incredible speed to save Hawkeye and a young Sokovian boy from Ultron's gunfire. He was fatally wounded in the process, sacrificing himself to protect them. His actions solidified his role as a hero.
