The Weeping Angels are a fictional species of predatory beings featured in the British science fiction television series Doctor Who. Created by writer Steven Moffat, they first appeared in the critically acclaimed 2007 episode "Blink."

The Angels are unique in that they are quantum-locked when observed; essentially, they become stone statues. This ability is both a defense mechanism and a hunting strategy. When unobserved, they can move incredibly fast and silently.

Their primary method of attack involves sending their victims back in time. The Angels feed off the potential energy of the lives the victim would have lived in the present. Alternatively, they can kill by snapping their victims' necks, as demonstrated in the episode, "The Angels Take Manhattan."

A key characteristic of the Weeping Angels is the "image of an angel becomes an angel" phenomenon. Looking at an image of a Weeping Angel can cause it to become real, creating a terrifying feedback loop.

The Weeping Angels are one of the Doctor's most formidable foes, renowned for their chilling design and unsettling abilities. Their appearances are consistently marked by an atmosphere of dread and inescapable danger.
