Garfield "Gar" Logan, better known as Beast Boy, is a prominent character in DC Comics. His powers are the result of a rare blood disease he contracted as a child while on an expedition with his scientist parents in Africa. To save his life, they injected him with an experimental serum derived from a green monkey, curing the disease but permanently altering his physiology.

This serum granted him the ability to shapeshift into any animal he can visualize, including extinct creatures and alien lifeforms. He retains the animal's abilities and coloration, typically green due to the serum's initial effects. Beast Boy's skin, hair, and eyes are consistently green.

Beast Boy is known for his energetic personality, vegetarianism, and comedic relief. He is a long-standing member of the Teen Titans, initially joining the Doom Patrol as a teenager. His shapeshifting abilities and upbeat nature make him a popular and valuable member of the team.
