Guy Gardner is a prominent character in DC Comics, known for his abrasive personality and membership in both the Green Lantern Corps and, later, the Red Lantern Corps.
Initially conceived as a secondary Green Lantern from Earth, behind Hal Jordan, Guy’s brashness and arrogance often put him at odds with other heroes. He suffered a near-fatal accident early in his career, leading to periods of incapacitation and personality changes that exacerbated his already difficult nature.
Following a particularly traumatic experience, Guy was chosen by a Red Lantern ring, fueled by rage. As a Red Lantern, he channeled his deep-seated anger into immense power, but struggled to control the ring's influence and its corrupting effect.
Eventually, Guy managed to regain control, using his willpower and combat skills to wield the Red Lantern ring without succumbing to its rage completely. He even briefly rejoined the Green Lantern Corps while still retaining his Red Lantern ring, showcasing his unique and complex character.
