Biography:
Superman (Crystal) is an alternate reality version of Superman from DC Comics, originating in the story "Superman: Last Son of Earth." In this inverted Elseworlds tale, Kal-El is not rocketed to Earth as an infant. Instead, Lara and Jor-El send their son, a fully formed adult with Kryptonian powers, to Earth to escape the planet's impending doom.
Upon arrival, Kal-El experiences a severe culture shock, unprepared for the relatively primitive nature of human society. He finds himself overwhelmed and emotionally stunted, struggling to understand humanity's capacity for both good and evil. He is referred to as "Crystal" due to his aloofness and perceived coldness, a stark contrast to the more familiar, optimistic Clark Kent.
Despite his initial detachment, Crystal eventually embraces his role as a protector of Earth. His methods, however, are often more direct and less concerned with collateral damage than his mainstream counterpart. The story explores the challenges of adapting to a new world as an adult and the burden of immense power without the grounding influence of a human upbringing.
