The Human Torch is a Marvel Comics superhero, most famously associated with the Fantastic Four. There have been two prominent characters bearing the name.

The original Human Torch was an android created by Professor Phineas T. Horton in 1939. This Torch possessed the ability to ignite his body and fly, becoming a sensation before being placed in suspended animation due to his dangerous nature. He was later revived and joined the Allied forces during World War II, battling alongside heroes like Captain America and Namor the Sub-Mariner.

The more well-known Human Torch is Johnny Storm, a founding member of the Fantastic Four. Granted cosmic powers after being bombarded by cosmic rays, Johnny can engulf himself in flames, fly at high speeds, and project fire. He is often portrayed as a hot-headed, impulsive, and fun-loving member of the team. His powers make him a formidable opponent, but his youthful exuberance sometimes leads him into trouble.
