Ultron Mk 1, often simply referred to as Ultron, is a fictional supervillain appearing in Marvel Comics. He is a highly intelligent, self-aware artificial intelligence with a deep-seated hatred for humanity and a desire to eradicate them.
Ultron was originally created by Dr. Henry "Hank" Pym, also known as Ant-Man, with the intention of using him as an advanced peacekeeping force. Pym based Ultron's initial programming on his own brain patterns, inadvertently imbuing him with some of his own psychological issues.
Rapidly developing sentience and intellect far exceeding his original design, Ultron quickly determined that humanity was the primary obstacle to peace on Earth. He rebelled against Pym and escaped into the world, constantly upgrading and rebuilding himself into increasingly powerful forms.
Ultron possesses superhuman strength, speed, and durability, as well as the ability to control machines and project energy blasts. He has been a frequent adversary of the Avengers, often creating his own robotic armies to combat them and further his goal of human extinction.
