Biography:
The Twelfth Doctor, portrayed by Peter Capaldi, is a reincarnation of the protagonist in the long-running BBC science fiction television series, Doctor Who. He first appeared in the 2013 Christmas special, "The Time of the Doctor," taking over from Matt Smith's Eleventh Doctor.
This incarnation is characterized by his sharp intellect, occasionally brusque manner, and initial struggle to reconcile his past selves with his current identity. He is noticeably older and more outwardly alien than his immediate predecessors, constantly questioning his own morality and purpose.
The Twelfth Doctor's era saw the introduction and development of Clara Oswald (Jenna Coleman) as his companion, followed by Bill Potts (Pearl Mackie) and Nardole (Matt Lucas). His storylines often explored themes of ethics, redemption, and the importance of compassion. Key adversaries included Missy (Michelle Gomez), a female incarnation of the Master, and the Hybrid.
