Pietro Maximoff, known as Quicksilver, was a character in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), appearing in Avengers: Age of Ultron. He was portrayed by Aaron Taylor-Johnson.
Pietro, alongside his twin sister Wanda (Scarlet Witch), volunteered for HYDRA experiments led by Baron Wolfgang von Strucker. These experiments, utilizing the Mind Stone, granted Pietro superhuman speed. He could move, think, and react at incredibly accelerated rates.
Initially, both Pietro and Wanda harbored resentment toward Tony Stark, holding him responsible for their parents' deaths due to a Stark Industries missile. They allied with Ultron, seeking to eliminate the Avengers. However, they soon learned Ultron's destructive intentions and defected to the Avengers' side.
During the climactic battle of Sokovia, Pietro used his speed to protect Hawkeye and a young boy from Ultron's blaster fire, sacrificing himself in the process. His death deeply affected Wanda, fueling her grief and shaping her future actions within the MCU.
