The Batriot
Basename:
Batman
Brand:
PopPunkMunky
Year:
2018
Theme:
DC
Biography:
The Batriot is a relatively obscure and satirical character appearing in the DC Comics universe. Created by Keith Giffen, J.M. DeMatteis, and Kevin Maguire, he primarily features in the humorous Justice League International series.
His real name is Wayne Arnold, and he's portrayed as a parody of both Batman and Captain America, embodying exaggerated patriotic ideals and a somewhat inept crimefighting style. He's essentially a well-meaning but deeply flawed individual.
The Batriot possesses no superpowers. His crimefighting equipment is low-tech and often malfunctions, and his fighting skills are questionable at best. His uniform is a modified Batman suit with American flag-inspired elements.
He is known for his overly enthusiastic, sometimes misguided, and often comical attempts to uphold American values and justice. He frequently interacts with the Justice League International, often providing comedic relief through his earnest, albeit incompetent, heroism. The Batriot is more of a well-intentioned nuisance than a genuine threat to villains.
