Biography:
Dollar Bill Tuxedo Batman, also known as William Tull, is an obscure, one-off character from the DC Comics universe. He appeared in Detective Comics #476 in April 1978.
Tull was a wealthy, albeit eccentric, Gotham City socialite. Driven by boredom and a desire for excitement, he decided to become a costumed crimefighter, mimicking Batman's persona.
His costume consisted of a tuxedo, a makeshift bat cowl, and a utility belt filled with frivolous, non-lethal gadgets. Instead of fighting crime effectively, Dollar Bill mostly engaged in harmless pranks and publicity stunts. He used his wealth to stage elaborate "crimes" that he could then "solve" for the benefit of the media.
Batman, finding Tull's actions disrespectful and undermining to his own mission, confronted him. The meeting resulted in Tull realizing the seriousness of Batman's work and ultimately abandoning his costumed identity.
Dollar Bill Tuxedo Batman is primarily remembered as a comedic footnote in Batman's long history, highlighting the dedication and discipline required to be a true crimefighter versus a frivolous imitation.
