Catman, whose real name is Thomas Blake, is a fictional character appearing in DC Comics, primarily as an adversary of Batman. He debuted in Detective Comics #311 in January 1963.
Initially portrayed as a wealthy socialite who turns to crime due to boredom, Blake's motivation stemmed from being a world-famous hunter who had lost his edge. He created a catsuit made from rare African cats, believing it would restore his hunting prowess.
Catman's early appearances were largely campy and unremarkable, leading to a long period of obscurity.
