Biography:

Jane Foster, a brilliant astrophysicist and former love interest of the original Thor, Odinson, assumed the mantle of Thor in Marvel Comics. Facing a terminal cancer diagnosis, she found that wielding Mjolnir, Thor's enchanted hammer, granted her incredible power and transformed her into the Goddess of Thunder.

While empowered, Jane possessed all of Thor Odinson's abilities, including superhuman strength, flight, and control over lightning. However, each transformation into Thor purged her body of the chemotherapy treatments she was receiving, ultimately accelerating her cancer's progression.

Despite the devastating consequences to her health, Jane continued to serve as Thor, bravely defending Earth and Asgard from numerous threats. She eventually sacrificed herself to defeat the Mangog, a powerful being driven by the hatred of gods.

Although she perished, Jane's valiant service earned her a place in Valhalla. Later, with the help of Odin and Thor, she was resurrected and eventually became the Valkyrie.
