Thor Odinson, often called simply Thor, is a prominent character in Marvel Comics, drawing heavily from Norse mythology.

Born to Odin, the Allfather of Asgard, and Jord (also known as Gaea), an Elder Goddess of Earth, Thor is the Asgardian God of Thunder. He is the heir apparent to the throne of Asgard.

Thor possesses superhuman strength, endurance, and longevity. He wields the enchanted hammer Mjolnir, which grants him the power to control weather, fly, and summon lightning. Only those deemed worthy can lift the hammer.

Initially arrogant and headstrong, Thor was banished to Earth by Odin to learn humility. During his time as Dr. Donald Blake, he gained a greater appreciation for humanity and became a champion of Midgard (Earth).

As a founding member of the Avengers, Thor has defended Earth from countless threats, often battling alongside his teammates against formidable foes like Loki, his adopted brother, and Thanos.

Throughout his long history, Thor has experienced periods of immense power, such as becoming the Rune King Thor, and times of vulnerability, highlighting his complex and evolving character.
