Biography:

Captain America, also known as Steve Rogers, has a history as a WWII super-soldier, and a symbol of American ideals. However, during the "Secret Empire" storyline, this image is shattered.

In this reality, Rogers' history was altered by the sentient Cosmic Cube Kobik, under the influence of the Red Skull. This manipulation replaced his memories with those of a Hydra sleeper agent, indoctrinated from childhood to believe in Hydra's supremacy.

As a result, he orchestrates a hostile takeover of the United States. He uses his position as head of S.H.I.E.L.D. to destabilize the nation and install a Hydra regime. He imprisons or kills those who oppose him, including many of his former allies in the Avengers and other superhero teams.

This version of Captain America is a ruthless and cunning strategist, willing to sacrifice innocent lives to achieve Hydra's goals. This drastic departure from his traditional portrayal shocked readers and created a highly controversial storyline.
