The Batman Who Laughs is a supervillain from DC Comics, originating in the Dark Multiverse. He is a twisted version of Bruce Wayne (Batman) from Earth-22.
His transformation began when he was exposed to a special Joker toxin upon killing his Joker. This toxin slowly rewrote his brain, blending Batman's strategic intellect and physical prowess with the Joker's madness, nihilism, and lack of empathy.
This fusion created a being who lacked any moral compass, capable of anticipating and countering Batman's own strategies. He retained all of Batman's training and resources but applied them with the Joker's cruelty and unpredictability.
The Batman Who Laughs became a major threat, leading an army of corrupted Robins, and even infecting other heroes. He represents Batman's worst fears realized; a Batman without rules or limits, driven by utter chaos and the desire to break others, physically and mentally.
