Wade Wilson, better known as Deadpool, is a fictional character appearing in Marvel Comics. He's a mercenary and assassin known for his motor-mouth, dark humor, and breaking the fourth wall.
Wilson's origin story reveals he volunteered for the Weapon X program, a Canadian superhero program, after being diagnosed with terminal cancer. The program granted him a healing factor derived from Wolverine, curing his cancer but leaving him severely scarred and mentally unstable.
